About the conference
Obesity is a complex disease, with many causes that have deep roots in society. That’s why we all need to work together to find solutions.
In Iasi County, the prevalence of obesity among children aged 5 to 10 years has increased from 8% to 12%. in the last 10 years. The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic added risk factors and contributed to increasing the prevalence of childhood obesity by one percent each year of the pandemic.
The conference brings together multi-disciplinary specialists to present their experience and recommendations on the most effective strategies to prevent and tackle childhood obesity in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
The conference was organized with financial support from the European Union, in the frame of „Cross-border integrated network for advanced health services in obesity, diabetes, and metabolic disorders”, 1HARD/4.1/93, https://ro-md.net/ro/.
